The family of a Scots gran, killed by a nurse, is upset over the driver’s lenient sentence after she avoided jail time for the tragic incident.
Kelso: A tragic incident has left a family heartbroken. A nurse named Angela Hislop was driving in the wrong lane when she hit 72-year-old Janette Davidson. This happened on November 11, 2022, on the B6397 road near Floors Castle.
Hislop, who had just finished a long night shift, crashed her Mercedes-Benz into Mrs. Davidson’s Kia. Sadly, Mrs. Davidson died at the scene. It’s a tough loss for her family.
Recently, Hislop faced the court and was found guilty. Instead of jail, she received a 12-month home curfew. Many feel this punishment is far too lenient.
Mrs. Davidson’s family expressed their pain, saying the sentence doesn’t reflect their loss. They miss her dearly and feel the outcome sends the wrong message.
In a heartfelt statement, they shared how much Janette meant to them. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her absence is deeply felt. They hope to find peace moving forward.
They also thanked everyone who supported them during this difficult time. Now, they ask for privacy as they try to heal and remember Janette’s positive spirit.
