The Foreign Office warns travelers about Storm Éowyn’s impact on Ireland’s weather
Dublin: Storm Éowyn is causing quite a stir in Ireland. Severe weather warnings are in effect today and tomorrow. Stena Line, which runs ferries to Ireland, is warning of possible disruptions.
The Foreign Office is advising travelers to check their plans. They should follow local guidance as multiple weather warnings are in place across the UK.
A red warning is out for many areas, including Dublin, Cork, and Galway. Winds could reach over 130 km/h, which is pretty intense!
Jet2 and Ryanair are also cautioning that flights might be affected this weekend due to the stormy weather.
The Irish Meteorological Service has listed some serious impacts. These include dangerous travel conditions, power outages, and even structural damage.
And it doesn’t stop there! New warnings for rain and wind are coming for the rest of the UK from Sunday. A strong low-pressure system is on the way, bringing winds up to 100 mph.
Heavy rain is expected on Sunday, too. Some forecasters are even talking about the potential for another storm, named Floris. A yellow warning for rain will be in effect from Sunday morning.
Stay safe out there and keep an eye on the weather updates!
