A Fatal Accident Inquiry into Badreddin Bosh’s death will start on March 11, following his deadly rampage at a Glasgow hotel in 2020
Bosh, 28, stabbed six people before officers intervened. They had tried using non-lethal methods first, but those didn’t work. Among the injured was a police officer, Constable David Whyte, who was critically hurt.
After his recovery, Constable Whyte expressed gratitude to the medical staff who saved his life. He feels lucky to be alive and is eager to return to duty.
The inquiry will start on March 11 at Glasgow Sheriff Court. It aims to address public concerns about the incident. Bosh’s family has been notified about the inquiry.
Documents related to the inquiry state it’s necessary due to serious public concern. Bosh had previously sought help for his mental health numerous times before the attack.
An independent report criticized the housing provider for failing to manage the asylum seekers properly. It highlighted a culture of fear among migrants at the hotel, who were afraid to voice their concerns.
The inquiry will ensure a thorough public examination of the facts surrounding Bosh’s death. Police Scotland has committed to fully cooperating with the inquiry process.
