Scotland might not be his main target, thanks to his family ties, but we still need to keep an eye on his economic moves. Since 2019, the bill for bringing in extra help has nearly hit a billion pounds. That’s not good value for money, and it needs to be looked at urgently. Last week, we found out that John Swinney is taking charge of the NHS. He knows it’s in a tough spot and has to step in. One of his first jobs should be tackling the staffing crisis in our beloved health service.
