Dwr Cymru has announced that water supplies are back on after a major mains burst caused disruptions in Bangor, affecting schools and businesses.
Schools had to close for a couple of days, which really threw a wrench in things for kids and parents. It’s tough when you can’t send your kids to school, right?
Claire Hughes, the local MP, is on it. She’s reaching out to the Welsh Government and Dwr Cymru to make sure schools can reopen soon. She’s also pushing for some flexibility on school uniforms since parents might not have had time to wash them.
Businesses are getting some help too. Dwr Cymru is offering £75 for every 12 hours they were affected. That’s something, but they need to make sure everyone knows how to claim it.
Residents living in caravans and park homes are also in the mix. They’ve faced disruptions just like everyone else and deserve some compensation.
Claire is also asking about plans for any future leaks. It’s good to know they’re thinking ahead. There’s a lot to sort out, but it sounds like they’re on the right track.
