Good news! Water supplies are back on after a major outage affected thousands of homes and businesses.
The trouble started last Wednesday at the Bryn Cowlyd Water Treatment Works. A major mains burst caused the chaos. It left around 40,000 homes and many businesses without water.
By Friday afternoon, they finished the repairs. But they warned it might take up to 48 hours for everything to get back to normal. Thankfully, today they confirmed that everyone affected has their water back.
A spokesperson from Welsh Water said the network is refilled and all schools are back on supply. They also mentioned that alternative water supplies would still be available today.
They’re also sorting out compensation for those impacted. They apologized for the hassle and thanked everyone for their patience.
During the outage, two water stations were set up for people to grab bottled water. It caused some serious traffic jams as folks lined up for supplies. Many schools had to close, too. What a mess!
