A man has been sentenced to life for murdering a child sex offender, showing no remorse and even celebrating the act.
Coxon was known in the community for his past crimes. He had health issues, including Alzheimer’s and diabetes. Gardiner attacked him at his home, leading to serious injuries.
Coxon died in March 2022, and Gardiner was arrested after bragging about the attack. The court found he had no remorse and even celebrated the murder.
Judge Martin Picton called Gardiner a dangerous man. He noted that Gardiner had a history of violence and had exploited Coxon for money.
Gardiner had previously robbed a disabled man and had a long list of criminal offenses. He represented himself in court and showed no regret for his actions.
After the sentencing, police stated that Gardiner would spend a long time behind bars for his brutal crime.
