A hillwalker was rescued in a Scots forest after injuring their ribs, highlighting the risks of outdoor adventures.
Callander: A group of hillwalkers had a bit of a scare recently. One of them got hurt while climbing in Achray Forest. They ended up with a rib injury, which is no joke.
The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team jumped into action. They shared some photos showing their team responding to the situation. Thankfully, the injured walker was found and could walk to the waiting vehicles.
Just a few days before this, there was another emergency in the Pentland Hills. It seems like the start of the year has been pretty busy for rescue teams.
Police Scotland got involved and called the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team for help. They worked alongside paramedics to make sure everyone was safe.
Later that same day, the rescue team had to help an injured mountain biker at Glentress. They got the call around 1:21 p.m. and wrapped things up by 3:45 p.m.
The Tweed Valley team mentioned that it’s been a lively start to the year. They’ve had multiple callouts already, including helping a hillwalker on the Eildon Hills and another who fell ill in the Pentland Hills.
They also used a new drone for a search, which is pretty cool. It’s great to see these teams getting upgraded gear to help with rescues, especially at night.
