Renfrew: A mum is over the moon after finally bringing her baby girl home. Hope Fry, born way too early at just 23 weeks, spent 153 days in the hospital. Sadly, her twin sister, Faith, didn’t make it.

Katie, the proud mum, shared how overwhelming the experience was. She said everything happened so fast, and it felt like a blur. No one expects to give birth so early.

Hope was doing well at first, but then her health took a turn. At just five days old, she needed emergency surgery for a brain bleed and a perforated bowel. It was a scary time for the family.

Despite the ups and downs, Hope pulled through. Katie praised the amazing staff at the hospital for their support. They really took care of both Hope and her parents.

The family hoped to be home for Christmas, but it didn’t happen. They spent Christmas Eve at the hospital, and it turned out to be a special time. Finally, on December 30, they got the green light to go home.

Now, they’re excited to watch their little girl grow. Katie feels Hope has helped them cope with the loss of Faith. She just wants Hope to be happy, no matter what challenges lie ahead.

The staff at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are thrilled to see Hope home. They feel privileged to have cared for her and look forward to hearing about her progress. It’s a reminder that miracles can happen!
