Llangefni: There’s a new housing project in the works. Anglesey County Council is looking at plans for 31 new homes. This is part of a bigger scheme called Phase Six.
The whole project aims to build 144 homes on land at Ty’n Coed/Parc y Coed. So far, 90% of the homes built have been bought by locals. It’s great to see first-time buyers getting on the property ladder.
The new site is just north of the town center, near the roundabout between Ffordd Talwrn and Ffordd Cyngar. But not everyone is thrilled about it. Some folks are worried about the impact on local wildlife, especially red squirrels and birds.
Parkfield Homes Ltd submitted the plans for this 80-hectare agricultural land. People have raised concerns about losing mature trees and the noise from construction. It’s a big change for the area.
One resident mentioned how disruptive the last development was. They recalled years of dust and noise from construction. Bird watchers also expressed their worries about losing habitats for local wildlife.
They want more information on how trees and hedgerows will be managed. Some agreed that a tree with ash dieback should go, but they want assurances that it will be replaced.
The developers have included a plan for managing trees and hedges. They promise regular inspections and care for the remaining trees. They say there’s been minimal local objection to the new plans.
Estate agents have noted strong interest in future phases, especially for two and three-bedroom homes. But the biggest demand is for four-bedroom houses. It looks like this project could really help the community.
