Bangor: Storm Éowyn is causing quite a stir in North Wales. Travelers are being told to check their plans before heading out this weekend. With winds hitting 90mph, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Transport for Wales and Network Rail are making changes to services. Some trains won’t run, and there will be replacement buses on certain routes. Plus, speed limits are in place, so expect longer journeys.

Sarah Higgins from TfW stressed the importance of planning ahead. She mentioned that storms can be unpredictable, and they’ve made adjustments based on forecasts. But, you know how it goes—things can change quickly.

Rachel Heath from Network Rail added that safety is their top priority. Unfortunately, some lines will be closed, and delays are expected. They’re working hard to reopen affected routes as soon as it’s safe.

Here’s what you need to know: No trains on the Conwy Valley Line or the Heart of Wales line all day. Replacement buses are ready to help out.

Also, there are speed restrictions in place. For example, on the North Wales Coast, trains will be limited to 50mph from 2 AM to 3 PM. Similar restrictions apply in other areas too.

If you have connecting tickets with operators that have suspended services, don’t worry. They’ll honor tickets from January 24 on earlier or later dates.

Stay safe and keep an eye on the latest updates!
