Prince Harry has reached a last-minute settlement with News Group Newspapers, avoiding a lengthy trial over serious privacy allegations
The trial was supposed to kick off soon, but it got delayed a few times. Harry’s lawyer, David Sherborne, announced that they finally reached an agreement. NGN apologized and agreed to pay him a hefty sum.
Sherborne told the court that both sides were happy with the deal. They even apologized for the serious invasions of Harry’s privacy from 1996 to 2011. This included phone hacking and other shady stuff by private investigators.
NGN also expressed regret over how they handled things back in 2006. The judge had previously denied requests to delay the trial, thinking both sides had enough time to sort things out.
Interestingly, other celebrities like Hugh Grant have faced similar issues with NGN. It seems like these legal battles can get pretty messy and costly.
