Exciting renovations are on the way for a popular Anglesey hotel and bar, aiming to enhance accessibility and attract more visitors to the stunning location.
Holyhead: Big changes are coming to the Trearddur Bay Hotel and Inn at the Bay. They’re planning a major refurbishment to attract more customers and create jobs. The hotel is a popular spot right by the beach.
The renovation plans include tearing down an old conservatory and building a new extension. They also want to make the beer garden better and add a wheelchair-accessible ramp. This is all being proposed by JW Lees Limited, a brewery company.
The site is about 580 square meters. They want to replace a single-storey extension to make it easier for everyone to get around. Right now, wheelchair users have to go outside to use the accessible toilet, which isn’t ideal.
The new design will make sure everything is on the same level, so there are no internal steps. Plus, they’ll raise the beer garden to match the hotel’s height, making it more accessible for everyone.
The hotel has 47 en-suite rooms with amazing sea views. It’s a favorite for locals and visitors alike, serving as a bar, eatery, and event venue. The plans aim to improve the entrance and create more space for customers.
Currently, the hotel employs eight full-time and 16 part-time staff. With the renovations, they expect to increase that to 10 full-time and 18 part-time jobs. It’s a win-win for the community!
They’re also looking to make the venue more comfortable year-round. The existing conservatory can be too cold in winter and too hot in summer. The new extension will be well-insulated, making it cozy no matter the weather.
Overall, this project is set to boost the local economy and improve the area. It’s all about creating a better experience for visitors and supporting local jobs.
