On January 21, the finalists were revealed, showcasing the best kebab takeaways and restaurants across the UK. One of the top awards is for the Best Kebab House in Scotland.

Ten restaurants are competing for this prestigious title, and they’re spread all over the country. Glasgow is really shining in this category, with five nominees making the list.

The contenders include BABS, Hajar’s Shawarma, King Roj Shawarma, Shawarma King, and Shawarma Star – Charcoal Grill. Edinburgh is also in the mix, with Memed Barbecue Grill & Meze Bar vying for the award.

Other nominees come from places like Arbroath, Alloa, Motherwell, and Belshill. It’s great to see such a variety!

Interestingly, the London Borough of Barnet has the most finalists overall, with nine kebab spots. Kensington and Chelsea follow with seven, while Camden, Liverpool, and Westminster each have six.

Ibrahim Dogus, the founder of the British Kebab Awards, mentioned that the competition is fierce this year. He’s excited to see how the awards unfold.
