Scottish Greens Call Donald Trump’s Inauguration a ‘Dark Day’ for Humanity

Edinburgh: The Scottish Greens are really worried about Donald Trump’s second inauguration. They’re calling it a “dark day.” Lorna Slater, the party’s co-leader, didn’t hold back. She said Trump is a “clear and present danger” to our climate and human rights.

She believes he stands for everything Scotland shouldn’t. Trump is set to take the oath again on Monday, eight years after his first time.

SNP First Minister John Swinney mentioned he’d meet Trump if he visits Scotland. Scottish Labour MP Torcuil Crichton even invited him to his mom’s home island of Lewis.

Slater emphasized that Trump’s politics are the opposite of what Scotland represents. She pointed out his promises of mass deportations and attacks on marginalized groups.

Last time he was in office, he pushed racist anti-Muslim laws and ignored environmental issues. She said the US government could eliminate poverty and provide free healthcare, but Trump won’t do it.

He’s always sided with the wealthy and the fossil fuel industry. Slater believes we can create a fairer, greener world. Millions in the US are worried about their rights under Trump. Those are the folks we should support today.
