South Lanarkshire: The college is shutting down tomorrow because of Storm Eowyn. They want to keep everyone safe as the storm hits.

The college announced this on Thursday. They said students will switch to remote learning. The winds could get really strong, up to 90mph.

The Met Office has issued a red weather warning. This means there’s a serious risk to life. The warning is in effect from 10am to 5pm.

On their Facebook page, the college said, “Please don’t come to campus on Friday.” They’ll be in touch with students about online classes.

If you have questions, reach out to your lecturer. College support services will be available via email.

They apologized for the inconvenience but stressed that safety is the top priority. The storm could cause flying debris and dangerous driving conditions.

There’s also a risk of power cuts and damage to buildings. The winds will start to pick up Friday morning and could peak in the afternoon.

A forecaster mentioned that winds might reach 100mph in some areas. So, it’s best to stay indoors if you can.

In addition to the red warning, there’s a yellow and amber warning from 6am to midnight on Friday. Stay safe out there!
