A thief was caught on camera stealing food donations meant for a local foodbank in Edinburgh, leaving a young boy heartbroken
Edinburgh: It’s a real shame what happened. A thief stole foodbank donations right from outside a home. This all went down on South East Circus Place around lunchtime on a Saturday.
Thanks to a doorbell camera, we can see the whole thing. The thief peeked into the bag and then just took off with the food. A dad named David was really upset about it. His son had gathered those donations for a school project.
David shared how his nine-year-old was collecting food for the local foodbank. They had a sign clearly saying it was for the foodbank. Neighbors had been so generous, but then someone just took it all.
He said it’s heartbreaking that someone would do this. The collection was meant for those in need through the Edinburgh Food Project. At least they caught it on camera, but it’s still disappointing.
Police Scotland is on the case. They got a report about the theft shortly after it happened. They’re looking into it, but it’s just sad to see such a kind effort go to waste.
