Kintore: This morning, a van caught fire on the A96, causing a big mess. Emergency services were called just before 7:49 AM. They rushed to the scene to tackle the flames.

The fire happened near the Broomhill roundabout while the van was heading west. Firefighters from two units and a specialist team are working hard to put it out.

Right now, the A96 is closed in both directions. Thankfully, there are no injuries reported. Traffic Scotland is advising drivers to steer clear of the area for now.

They posted a warning saying the road is shut at Broomhill roundabout due to the fire. Motorists should find another route and expect delays.

Stagecoach also had to cancel services to Blackburn because of the closure. They mentioned on X that they can’t serve Blackburn until the road reopens. They hope it’ll be cleared soon.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were alerted at 7:49 AM. They quickly sent out two fire engines and a specialist team to handle the situation.
