The Wellbeing through Sport Programme is a unique programme aimed at nurturing positive mental health and wellbeing in children through physical activity.
An essential part of promoting positive mental health and wellbeing is to protect our mental and physical health, and nurture emotional intelligence and resilience and at Team Mental Health we believe that to support the growth and development of these attributes, it is crucial to develop what we call the ‘TMH Core Life Skills’.
To promote good mental health and wellbeing across schools, Team Mental Health have worked with EdStart Sports Coaching to consider how we can support children to develop an understanding of the ‘TMH Core Life Skills’ and apply these to their everyday life.
The team at EdStart have used their skills and expertise as sports coaches to develop a range of physical activities designed to align with the ‘TMH Core Life Skills’ and we’ve worked together to produce this unique 12-week Wellbeing Through Sport Programme.
The aim of this programme is to promote good mental health, good physical health, and enable children to develop positive adaptive behaviours which empower them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
