Brexit has complicated life for many, and now there’s a push to reconnect with the EU for better trade and living standards
Scotland: Brexit has turned out to be a real mess. Remember all those promises? They didn’t pan out. Small businesses are struggling to trade with the EU now. There’s just so much red tape.
And if you’re flying to Spain, good luck! You’ll be stuck in long queues just to get your passport stamped. Meanwhile, EU folks breeze through electronic gates. It’s frustrating.
Honestly, leaving the EU has made everything trickier. Many of those anti-EU claims? They were just hot air. We were promised extra cash for the NHS, but that never came. And immigration? It hasn’t really changed.
Now, they said Brexit would help our fishing industry, but it’s done the opposite. The 2016 vote had to be respected, but it’s clear now that it was a mistake.
John Swinney is spot on. We should be looking to rejoin the EU. Sure, it won’t happen overnight, but it’s something we should aim for. It’s about boosting our economy and improving living standards.
